Key Findings

Reasons for Optimism

  • Public commitments to long-term decarbonization goals over the past five years are up from 62% of surveyed companies to 76%.

  • 77% of companies said their organizations are now more resilient to climate disruption than they have been in the past.

  • Nearly 80% of companies feel their organizations are well-prepared to meet 2030 goals. 

Challenges Ahead

  • Despite public commitments, only 14% of executives identify decarbonization as a ‘top priority’ within their organizations.

  • Only 30% of companies report having a single source of truth for their decarbonization data.

  • Some challenges have persisted nearly every year of the Net Zero Report, including limited capacity, slow decision-making, and insufficient incentives
